Viva la Frida

Created in homage to my favourite Rose Sister, artist and muse, Frida Kahlo.

Frida Kahlo's full name is Magdalena Carmen Frida Kahlo y Calderón. She was born on July 6th, 1907, in Mexico City. I, like countless others have been captivated by her art and very essence of being since I first read about her some 22 years ago. To me, Frida was and is a true alchemist who used her physical and emotional pain to create tremendous beauty, both in her image and that of her work.

I named my rolling home after her and now as I embark deeper into my journey of scent and healing through plants, I decided to create a candle in honour of her who inspires so many. 

This scent is based on one of Frida's favourite perfumes, Shalimar by Guerlain. 'Guerlain’s legendary fragrance, is a hauntingly sensual, timeless scent symbolising a mythical, incandescent love story. It embodies intoxicating femininity and a hint of the forbidden.' L'Eau de Parfum Shalimar is a mythic fragrance with bergamot, iris and vanilla notes.'

Sparkling bergamot and mandarin zest tempered with a creamy sweet vanilla. Hints of spiced incense pave the way for creamy blossoming night jasmine, before drying off with sultry sandalwood and iris.

Top notes: Bergamot, Mandarin, Pear, Spearmint

Middle note: Jasmine, Spice, Cedar, Frankincense, Patchouli 

Bottom notes: Musk, Amber, Sandal, Labdanum, Vanilla, Iris

Sizes and burn time:

Small 120g. Burn time: up to 25 hours

Medium: 180g. Burn time 35-40 hours

For an even burn pool, allow the candle to burn for 2-3 hours at a time. After use, your amber glass jar can be re-used. If you look after your candle then you will notice the difference…a little love goes a long way.

Our blend is vegan friendly using rapeseed and coconut wax, infused with high quality fragrance oils and cotton wicks.

This candle will burn clean down the edges, with no wax or fragrance to spare. Providing you with at least 20 hours of room filling aromas.
